Dwayne Haskins Breaks Another OSU Passing Record

Ohio State Buckeyes football quarterback Dwayne Haskins

Dwayne Haskins is on the verge of owning every major Ohio State single-season passing record – and the Buckeyes still have at least three more games to play.

Late in OSU’s 26-6 win over Michigan State, Haskins broke the school record for pass attempts in a season. He broke the mark for completions in a season a week earlier against Nebraska.

He is on track to tie or break at least four more records next weekend against Maryland.

With two more regular season games left, plus at least one postseason game, he already owns a significant number of Buckeye passing records – for single game, single season, and even career stats.

Here’s a look at where he ranks on every major OSU passing record.

  1. Haskins is on the verge of another record, worst QB running the ball who has ever played as a starting QB at Ohio State and possibly all of college football. His record thus far is 41 carries for a whopping 34 yards.
Game planning for the OSU offense is simple…when Haskins is in do not fear him running, expect a handoff or a pass (and if you get close just yell boo and watch him go down). When Martell comes in do not fear the pass and expect him to run.

  2. Can u imagaine Troy’s stats in today’s CFB where QB hand offs are counted as passes?? Haskins needs to figure out out how to score TD’s against decent teams. Go back and watch the MI Troy move around making crazy throws, I’ll take that passing offense in today’s game over the Ryan Day’s 7pts in 3 Quarters O

  3. Defense finally played a good game and everybody still wants to cry about something. Michigan state might not have the best offenses but they blew out Purdue and osu didn’t even give up a td and ran the ball pretty good against the nations number one rush defense. In this perfect would y’all live in osu would put up 100 on every team and never give up a td all yr. since everybody on here knows how to fix all the issues maybe y’all should apply for coaching jobs

  4. Congrats to D Haskins…definitely has a skill-set that can be developed. Haskins is NO WAY ready for the next level. As good as he is, he needs to get mentally tougher. He needs to work on recognizing pressure and where its coming from. he needs to improve on moving, sliding.stepping in the pocket. He is young and inexperienced, and does not handle pressure well. I know it sounds negative, just making an observation. He will be a top 10 pick in a year OR …..2? That being said, I have more confidence in this young man when he drops back than any QB since TROY SMITH.

    1. What I noticed about Dwayne against MSU was slight improvment handling pressure, standing in against a rush, making some good throws under pressure as the game went on, and most importantly, more toughness on the scramble to the left. Strange how that showed when Tate was in the game plan.
