Urban Meyer made the most of his recruiting travels today, landing a verbal commitment from Pocatello, Idaho (Highland HS) defensive tackle Tommy Togiai following a visit to Highland High School Tuesday afternoon. Meyer was joined on the trip by defensive line coach Larry Johnson.
Togiai (6-3 290) announced the news via Twitter.

The No. 9 defensive tackle in the 2018 class per the 247Sports Composite, ESPN actually has Togiai as their No. 3 player at that position and the No. 53 player in the nation overall. He is ranked the No. 126 player overall in the 247Composite.
Togiai is an Army All-American and the Idaho Player of the Year. In helping his team to a state championship this past season, he tallied 93 tackles, 11 sacks, and two forced fumbles. He even had an interception.
As a junior, Togiai was named USA Today Idaho Defensive Player of the Year, and was also a First-Team All-State selection.
In the highlights below, Togiai displays an ability to stay low despite having length. He is overpowering at this point of his career. He can stuff the run up the middle and also shed a block and stretch a running play all the way to the sideline. He shows quickness as a pass rusher and can close like a defensive end.
The commitment now gives Ohio State three 4-star defensive tackles in the 2018 recruiting class. Togiai joins No. 1 defensive tackle Taron Vincent and No. 2 junior college defensive tackle Antwuan Jackson. Jackson is enrolling in the winter and will have three years of eligibility remaining.
The Buckeyes are still looking for some defensive ends, but as of right now they have a haul of defensive tackles like Ohio State has possibly never had before.
