Four-Star Florida Running Back Daniel Carter Includes OSU in Top Group

Daniel Carter Ohio State Recruiting Buckeyes

Four-star Fort Lauderdale, Florida (St. Thomas Aquinas) running back Daniel Carter tweeted out his Top 10 Tuesday evening, including Ohio State with nine other schools. The entire list looked like this: Ohio State, Oregon, Miami, Texas, Kansas State, Georgia, Illinois, Pitt, LSU, and Utah.

Carter (5-10 204) is the No. 19 running back in the 2019 class per the 247Sports Composite and the No. 356 player overall. Rivals likes Carter considerably more, making him their No. 7 running back and No. 170 player overall.

Carter led Aquinas with 954 yards rushing and 17 touchdowns last year. He just finished up an official visit to Pitt this past weekend. He recently told Rivals.com that he would like to take official visits to Ohio State and Georgia this fall.

Despite having two running backs committed in Sampson James and Steele Chambers, the Buckeyes are still in the market for ball carriers. Chambers may end up at linebacker, which would still leave an opening in the backfield. Carter is not the only running back still on the Ohio State radar.

IMG running back Noah Cain continues to talk a good game about his interest in Ohio State, but his Crystal Ball has gone in the wrong direction for the Buckeyes over the last couple of months. He now sits at just one prediction for OSU out of 17 picks. Texas is in the lead at the moment, and they have been for a while now.

Ten days or so ago, 4-star Georgia running back Derrian Brown also included Ohio State in his latest cut down. He is the No. 12 running back in the nation.

If Ohio State views Chambers as a linebacker, they may try to find a different style of running back to complement Sampson James, who is a bigger back (6-1 211). Perhaps that will be Daniel Carter.
