There are still six months left in the 2019 recruiting cycle, but that hasn’t kept the 2020 class from marching ahead full steam. One of the top prospects in the 2020 class has set a commitment date for this Wednesday, and Buckeye fans may want to set themselves a reminder.
I will be announcing my commitment Wednesday, June 27th at 6:00pm Eastern Time.

Lejond Cavazos (6-0 186) attends IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. IMG is the same program that has sent Taron Vincent, Isaiah Pryor, Marcus Williamson, and Malik Barrow to Ohio State over the last few years.
Ranked the No. 11 safety in the 2020 class per the 247Sports Composite, Cavazos holds offers from schools like Ohio State, Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, LSU, Florida State, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Michigan, USC, and everybody in between.
The Composite has Cavazos as a 4-star prospect and the No. 212 player overall, but Rivals likes him as much as the schools listed above, ranking him as their No. 4 safety and No. 101 player in the 2020 class.
At a regional The Opening combine this past April, Cavazos ran a 4.56 and put up a 43″ vertical jump.
The Buckeyes are seen as the favorite for Cavazos and hold 100% of the nine Crystal Ball predictions.
Cavazos was also a topic of conversation with Ohio State’s top 2020 quarterback target Jack Miller on Friday, who will also be committing soon.

As a safety, Cavazos is just getting started. It is difficult for an underclassman to play for IMG, which is one of the top programs in the country. He can cover plenty of ground, however, and shows no fear of helping out in run support.
Ohio State only has one 2020 commitment currently, in Tennessee offensive tackle Jake Wray. By this time next week, however, there very well could be three.
