2019 Rose Bowl: Kickoff Time, TV, Streaming, Tickets

Rose Bowl Stadium

The No. 6 Ohio State Buckeyes (12-1, 7-1 B1G) are out in California preparing for the 2019 Rose Bowl.

They will face No. 9 Washington (10-3, 7-2 Pac-12).

The Huskies earned their spot by beating Utah, 10-3 in the Pac-12 Championship Game.

The Buckeyes successfully defended their Big Ten championship by beating Northwestern, 45-24 in the Big Ten Championship Game.

This is the Buckeyes’ first trip to Pasadena since 2010, and only their third since 1985.

Ohio State owns an 8-3 lead in the all-time series with the Huskies, but this is the first time the programs will meet in a bowl game.

Here’s everything you need to know about Ohio State vs. Washington in the 2019 Rose Bowl, whether you’re headed to Pasadena to see it in person or watching from home.

Kickoff Time

The game kicks off January 1, 2019 at 5:00 pm Eastern.

TV & Streaming

You can watch the game on ESPN, or stream it via the Watch ESPN app. Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit, Maria Taylor, and Tom Rinaldi are on the call.

Radio

The game will be carried live on the Ohio State Football Radio Network. Find your local Ohio State Football radio station here.

Weather

The forecast for New Year’s Day in Pasadena is sunny and 58 with winds of 15-20 miles per hour.

It should be an absolutely classic Rose Bowl setting, complete with the sunset hitting the San Gabriel Mountains.

Point Spread

Ohio State is a 6.5-point favorite. The Over/Under is 58.

If those numbers are both accurate, the Buckeyes would win 32-26 or so.

Tickets

There are basically no more tickets available through Ticketmaster, but you can still get in the door at a reasonable price through the secondary market.

The “get-in” price on StubHub right now is around $100.

If you’re looking for a pair of seats, you can sit on the 20 on the OSU side for roughly $275 each, and on the 50 on the OSU side for about $350 per seat.

Rose Bowl Bag Policy

From the Rose Bowl’s official website:

The Rose Bowl Stadium has implemented a clear bag policy for all events at the Rose Bowl Stadium. We encourage fans to conform to the policy prior to arriving at the Rose Bowl Stadium. Otherwise large purses and bags must be returned to vehicle or checked in for a fee of $10 at one of the stadium’s item check-in tents.

The following types of bags are allowed:

  • 12″ x 6″ x 12″ Clear Plastic Bag
  • 1 Gallon Plastic Freezer Bag
  • Clutch with Shoulder Strap (clutch may not be larger than 4.5″ X 6.5″)
  • Clutch with Wrist Strap (clutch may not be larger than 4.5″ X 6.5″)
  • Diaper Bag, as long as accompanied by a child

Parking

There are just shy of 40,000 parking spots within a six-block walk of the stadium, so you’ll be able to find a spot.

You can find the official parking map here.

You can prepay for parking and download parking passes here. It costs $40 per car.

If you’re bringing an RV, bus or other bigger vehicle, check the link to the parking map above and you can find information to park large vehicles there.

  1. Having gone to 4 or 5 Rose Bowl games while living in SoCal, I can tell you that the best time to get tickets is outside the stadium just before or at kickoff. The prices drop like a rock, and you can find excellent seats. Of course, this method isn’t for the faint of heart, or the “Oh, we have to have everything lined up weeks in advance!” types. You have to have guts and a bit of streets smarts.

    1. Boy that’s risky. I always want my ticket in hand before going to any game, whether it’s at the Shoe or across the country in cali.
