The No. 4 Ohio State Buckeyes are back from their week off and preparing for a trip to Evanston to face Northwestern.
OSU enters with a 6-0 record, while the Wildcats are just 1-4.
The Buckeyes are nearly a four-touchdown favorite on the road, and the talk around the Woody Hayes Athletic Center this week has been about making sure they’re not overlooking anyone.
With the big showdown with Wisconsin on-deck, it would easy for the Bucks to start peeking ahead. But Ryan Day and his staff have emphasized to the team that they can’t do that.
Overlooking big underdogs on the road has bitten the Buckeyes in each of the last two years. They want to make sure it doesn’t happen again.
Wednesday night, a handful of Buckeyes met with the media to preview the Northwestern game.
You can watch interviews with QB Justin Fields, CBs Jeff Okudah and Shaun Wade, and OL Wyatt Davis below.

Arrogance & ignorance know no bounds.
I admire our players’ exercise in trying to substantively reply to distracting questions. It’s fascinating how we fans and media lay the responsibility for daily focus and attention to detail and game preparation on ‘the kids’… while we ask about next year & speculate.
It’s also informative listening to how the players respond, yet omit details & techniques they want kept within the team.
They can overlook Northwestern and still win by 30.
Jim, Do not agree at all. Northwestern always plays tough in recent times since Fitz took over as coach. Their defense is basically last year’s unit, and they will be ready 100%. If the last two seasons taught this team anything, is if you do not come to play your A game, a major upset can and usually does occur. Iowa and Purdue games over the last 2 years are what killed any chance of making the College Football Championship Series. Also, Northwestern in recent years has a way of not playing well in their first 4 to 5 games, and then all of a sudden, they start to roll. If the Buckeyes do not show up, it will help them start that same process, and of course it will make Northwestern’s year. So, there is a concern. Hopefully, Coach Day and staff will keep the better team FOCUSED!!! Go Bucks!!
