Ohio State’s 2018 recruiting class has been in need of at least one more wide receiver, and the Buckeyes got that Tuesday night when 4-star St. Louis (Christian Brothers College) pass catcher Kamry Babb verbally committed to OSU. He announced the news via Twitter.
Never would’ve thought I’d be in the position I’m in today, anything is possible with God.. All praise to the Lord above.

The Buckeyes were the overwhelming favorite to land Babb, who is ranked the No. 12 receiver in the nation per the 247Sports Composite and the No. 65 player overall. The commitment now gives Ohio State 11 players in the Top 100. Babb is the ninth-highest-ranked commitment so far for the Buckeyes. He would be the highest-ranked commitment for every other Big Ten team other than Penn State.
Babb (6-1 189) also had offers from Alabama, Michigan, Oklahoma, Auburn, LSU, Miami, Notre Dame, Texas, Penn State, USC, and many, many others.
An Army All-American, Babb missed his entire senior season with a torn ACL. He was a First-Team All-State selection as a junior in 2016, and was expected to garner more accolades as a senior. The Buckeyes never wavered on their desire to have him as part of the 2018 class, however.
The commitment now gives OSU three receivers in the 2018 class, with Babb joining 4-star outside receiver Blue Smith and 5-star H-back Jaelen Gill.
In the highlights below, Babb displays tremendous strength after the catch, breaking arm tackles with routine disinterest. He has tremendous cutback ability and is always looking for that next yard once the ball is in his hands. And when the ball is still in the air, he’s looking for a way to get to it before the defender. He high-points the football with ease and has the aforementioned strength to come down with the ball while shedding defenders.
Ohio State now has 20 commitments in a 2018 class that is ranked No. 1 in the nation by a very wide margin.
