Ohio State Offers 2021 Massillon Wide Receiver Jayden Ballard

Jayden Ballard Ohio State Recruiting Buckeyes

Following Ohio State’s 1-day camp on Friday, the Buckeyes extended an offer to 2021 Massillon Washington wide receiver Jayden Ballard. The news was tweeted out by his coach Nate Moore.

Ballard (6-1.5 164) played sparingly on the varsity team as a freshman last season, catching three passes for 111 yards and two touchdowns. He also threw a 50-yard touchdown pass.

The last two receivers from Massillon Washington to be offered by Ohio State were former cornerback Gareon Conley and Devin Smith, so there is a pretty decent history here. That history also includes Devin Jordan, who was part of OSU’s 2003 recruiting class.

Ballard, who ran a 4.60 at The Opening Regional in Massillon, along with a 4.22 20-yard shuttle and 33.2″ vertical, is just the second Ohioan in the 2021 class to be offered by the Buckeyes. He joins Pickerington North defensive end Jack Sawyer, who was offered back in April. Sawyer (6-5 219) also holds offers from Michigan and Penn State.

Ballard is also the second receiver in the 2021 class to receive an Ohio State offer. Roswell, Georgia prospect Julian Nixon (6-4 205) was the first, and his OSU offer joined the likes of Auburn, Georgia, Florida, Florida State, and others.

  1. Hope he can get open like Devin Smith. Could be a real treat for Buckeye Nation and a real headache for Saban et al.

    1. yes, hope he reminds of Devin Smith, it and when he arrives. in the meantime, I’m thinking ole Nick is sleeping ok (with his current NC ring bedside),despite the commit of a reciever to Ohio St getting ready for his sophomore year in high school….

  2. Wow. I must be missing something here…seems the staff is really forecasting and projecting out. Good luck to Ballard.
