COLUMBUS — Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer met with reporters following practice Wednesday evening. He provided updates on his Buckeyes and looked ahead to Saturday’s game against Nebraska. The Huskers are 2-6 (1-4), but have won two games in a row. Ohio State, meanwhile, is coming off of a bye week that followed a 49-20 loss at Purdue. Here are the highlights of what Meyer had to say.
+ Meyer said he talked about his cyst yesterday to put it to rest. Now he just wants to move on to the team.
+ Wyatt Davis is the next in on the offensive line. Branden Bowen is not yet ready to play. Josh Myers is after Davis. Brady Taylor is not yet ready. “The one I’m really impressed with is Wyatt Davis.”
+ The mentality of the offensive line is a concern of Meyer’s and it’s something that they addressed in the last week. He doesn’t put it all on that, but there’s a cumulative effect of things that need to be fixed.
+ Meyer saw an angry team in practice since the loss. “Anger, whatever, if that’s what it takes to make you practice hard…” He just saw a more serious team in practice.
+ Nebraska is night and day from where they were earlier in the year. Defensively they are a completely different team and much improved.
+ Football is an evaluation-friendly business and he saw coaches and players working their tails off in the past week.
+ Terry McLaurin is the other X receiver now with Austin Mack. Chris Olave will also rotate there. Parris Campbell may also play some outside possibly as well.

It is November.
^^^ Eloquent and correct.
Yep- if he’s “impressed” with Davis, GET HIM IN THERE. Good heavens, this isn’t calculus.
We have the most players “that are not ready yet” of any team in the country. It’s a lame excuse for not replacing underperforming guys based sheerly on seniority.
Well, in this case, not ready to play means coming back from injuries.
