In this episode of the Buckeye Weekly podcast, Tony Gerdeman and Tom Orr preview Saturday’s game between Ohio State and Nebraska. Where are the Huskers strong and where are they weak? What should the Buckeyes be concerned about and what should they feel good about? The fellas talk about the matchups and what it will take for Nebraska to pull off the upset in this one. They also discuss what it will take for Ohio State to avoid another devastating Big Ten West road trip. All of this and much more.
The Rundown
A smooth 26 hours in the car is in our future.
The defense worked on conditioning this week in practice.
 Why?
Nebraska’s up-tempo is going to trap them on the field at times.
Looks like the Buckeyes could get a couple of defensive linemen back this week.
What could Jonathon Cooper bring to this defense?
Can you be safe at 150 miles per hour?
 Cooper has to be starving.
Nebraska hasn’t seen anything like this Ohio State defensive line.
This is not a very good Nebraska offensive line.
Scott Frost and Ryan Day are going to meet up a lot down the road.
Wan’dale Robinson is the lower middle class man’s Rondale Moore.
Nebraska has a ton of skill and they will make plays this week.
Will the Huskers’ lack of a kicker force Scott Frost to be more aggressive on fourth downs?
 Preparing for crowd noise.
 Preparing for rain.
Let’s talk about Garrett Wilson returning punts.
 We think it’s his job.
Ryan Day has clarified that it might be.
When do you decide not to put Wilson out there?
Garrett Wilson is a dude and Ryan Day knows that.
Garrett Wilson and Jameson Williams are able to play more than Chris Olave did last year because there are more blowouts this year.
Nebraska is accustomed to facing a mobile quarterback.
What are we going to see from Justin Fields?
Fields has to be the guy who doesn’t sweat.
This is going to be a new experience for him.
Nebraska gave up 5.8 yards per carry against an Illinois team that couldn’t throw the ball.
The Huskers have given up some big plays as well.
 The rain doesn’t help Nebraska.
Nebraska’s defense could get tired out eventually.
You might see 30 carries for JK Dobbins this week.
Could make a statement this weekend.
Ohio State is going to move the ball.
Tom and Tony predict the score.
Try to make it to the game, Lincoln is great.

I’ve been expecting and expecting DMac to explode. It’s just not happening. Garrett Wilson steps into the position and just explodes. The reason he exploded is his vision. I’m at the point of put Garrett and Jameson as the returners for this team now. Jameson showed a lot more than just speed in his TD grab. When he went up to catch the ball he had already assessed the field. When his feet hit the ground his next move was already in process. Hit the ground………pivot……….turn on the jets. If he’s even……..he’s leavin’. That kind of awareness and confidence in his own visual assessment and skills makes him a nightmare for any opponent. With Garrett and Jameson there’s a real chance of them being as good as, or better than the combination of Santonio and Ted.
