Anger, sadness, frustration, confusion…those are all words that can be used to describe how Buckeye Nation felt on Saturday. Outside of punting and possibly the cheerleaders, there was not much celebrating going on during the game. Within the Big Ten, things were a little different as the conference built on a very good week…
Mike and I had a discussion on The Sons of Schmidt a few weeks ago where we were talking about the “Most Overrated” and “Most Underrated” conferences in America heading into the season. My response was that I really wanted to put the Big Ten for each of these categories. I feel like the top end of the B1G will be considered…
Families all around the nation are getting back from their vacations. The youngins are back to school where they belong learning and stuff. With those pesky little kids out the door, Mommy and/or Daddy can now start the time-honored tradition of day drinking just enough so it doesn’t limit their ability to go pick up the kids.
Football season is officially upon us! Tony is probably huddled in the corner of the Woody somewhere wondering where life went wrong, Urban Meyer is praying someone parks in his spot again, Larry Johnson is wondering where he is going to play 14 future NFL defensive linemen, and Kerry Coombs is probably on…
I want you to think really hard about this next question — what do you consider a successful offensive season for Ohio State? Is it how many points they score? Or how many yards they put up? What about just being consistent? Maybe a combination of all of these? For each person, the answer to this relatively simple…
As I do every Wednesday night, I had the privilege of sitting down with Mark Rogers and discussing the Ohio State Buckeyes. In this episode, we discussed the drama surrounding J.T. Barrett not being selected as a B1G Media Days representative, the 2017 linebackers, and finally we went over my projected stats for the offense.
This week we cover what I like to call the “Tennessee Volunteers” position at Ohio State. Every year, is the year where the breakout will happen. In reality, every year mediocrity is the name of the game. Everyone wants the Buckeye tight ends to be involved. The talent has always been there. Guys like Ben Hartsock, Jake…
With as much turnover as Ohio State football is used to having, it is always good to have someone returning who you know will produce. It is even better when you have two or three guys sitting right behind the starter who look like they could contribute immediately. I don’t think there is any question on whether…
Last week’s projection was a story of consistency and proven success as we discussed the quarterbacks, led by senior J.T. Barrett. This week’s column is the polar opposite. The group, affectionately known as Zone 6 by their coach, has really been missing the consistency and “Zone 6ishness” over the last couple of seasons.
There isn’t a positional group on the Ohio State roster where there is so much controversy without being any…y’know controversy over the starter. It really isn’t uncommon for the starting quarterback to take a lot of heat, whether you are at Ohio State or Idaho State. In this case, the heat gets scorching when the last time…
Last night I was able to sit down and discuss the Ohio State Buckeyes with MarkRogersTV. For those not familiar with Mark, his channel is a gold mine for information about teams all-across the nation. As part of an on-going series with Mark, I took a look at the Ohio State offensive line for the 2017 season.
