As an Ohio State fan, the 2017 season was rough. The quarterback position was a constantly-negative situation where one side felt very strong about J.T. Barrett’s abilities as a leader and the other side felt very strongly about his lack of abilities throwing the ball. It was a constant debate where neither side was going to be dissuaded…
All throughout spring and fall camp, the Ohio State coaches and players talked about how good the deep passing game was looking. It may have taken longer to come to fruition than people wanted, but we finally saw a good bit of what they were talking about in Saturday night’s win over Rutgers. J.T. Barrett hit deep shots to…
If ‘X’ marks the spot, then people might want to start digging No. 9. Ohio State has been in search of a take-charge X receiver since Michael Thomas left for the NFL after the 2015 season. It looked early on like Noah Brown would be that guy last year, especially after catching five touchdown passes in his first three games.
Over the last couple of days, parents of Ohio State players have been tweeting out the good news that their son has been named a starter. Austin Mack’s mother tweeted on Friday that her son will be starting against Indiana. Sunday, Ohio State football’s Twitter account released this video of Johnnie Dixon’s mother being given…
First off, yes, this is the best name I could come up with for a standard “thoughts” piece that every writer does. I’m guessing nobody else has used this title though, so that’s good. The reason I wanted to write about the Ohio State receivers today is plentifold. Mainly, I just thought it would be good to talk about a position group…
The Buckeyes seem to bring a distinctive motto or mantra into each season under Urban Meyer. We have seen The Chase and The Grind. There was a Land of Wolves around for a while, and probably one or two others that have been forgotten by time. There is no such trademark to 2017, but there is certainly a message.
I just realized that splitting up this 100 Things into 10 pieces means that I have to come up with 10 separate intros. Intros are not my favorite things, and so sometimes I don’t put as much thought into them as I should. This intro, for instance, is probably going to be my worse one ever. But then I remember that I still have…
The No. 6 player on this list may be the biggest projection of the entire Top 10. If he does what his coaches and teammates say he’s capable of doing, then he may also be severely under ranked. This is what we know about Binjimen Victor: he’s big, he’s fast, he’s athletic, he’s talented, and he can leap tall buildings…
Last week’s projection was a story of consistency and proven success as we discussed the quarterbacks, led by senior J.T. Barrett. This week’s column is the polar opposite. The group, affectionately known as Zone 6 by their coach, has really been missing the consistency and “Zone 6ishness” over the last couple of seasons.
