The Maxwell Football Club today announced its watch lists for the 81st annual Maxwell Award and the 23rd annual Chuck Bednarik Award, and multiple Ohio State Buckeyes are on the radar for the organization’s respective player of the year and defensive player of the year awards. A pair of fifth-year seniors – quarterback J.T. Barrett and defensive end Tyquan Lewis…
There isn’t much that Urban Meyer has yet to accomplish as the head coach of the Ohio State football program. The trophy case contains a Big Ten Championship and a National Championship. It technically even contains five Division Championship trophies. Meyer is 61-6 as the head coach at Ohio State.
The Ohio State Buckeyes are the most-talented team in the Big Ten, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t question marks. No team is perfect. In fact, it’s overcoming their flaws that makes great teams unforgettable. Did the 2002 Buckeye offense have any business winning a national title? No. Did the 2014 defense…
There isn’t a positional group on the Ohio State roster where there is so much controversy without being any…y’know controversy over the starter. It really isn’t uncommon for the starting quarterback to take a lot of heat, whether you are at Ohio State or Idaho State. In this case, the heat gets scorching when the last time…
Last night I was able to sit down and discuss the Ohio State Buckeyes with MarkRogersTV. For those not familiar with Mark, his channel is a gold mine for information about teams all-across the nation. As part of an on-going series with Mark, I took a look at the Ohio State offensive line for the 2017 season.
We are roughly six weeks away from fall camps beginning around the nation. That dead period where we all pretend we are baseball fans but rarely actually watch games (who has three to four hours every night to watch games?) is coming to an end. The Ozone staff has done a tremendous job of keeping us in the loop with all things Ohio State football…
Pass defense is a many-pronged attack, but the cohesion between pass rush and pass coverage will always be the key. You can dial up as many different looks and formations and defenses as you like, and they will all work as long you can rush the passer…
Heading into the 2016 season, there was some thought that this might be J.T. Barrett’s last year as an Ohio State quarterback. He would be graduating following the season, and he was expected to have a very productive redshirt junior year. Both of those happened…
It has been several weeks or maybe just two weeks or maybe even a month since I last completed a mailbag. I don’t know how long it’s been, I just know that it’s been long enough that I don’t feel guilty at all about asking for submissions. Generally, sportswriters request submissions because they have nothing to write about.
J.T. Barrett is now an Ohio State graduate. Now his life as a college quarterback is much different than it ever used to be. After four years as an undergrad, Barrett graduated from OSU in December with a degree in Communications. He has since enrolled in graduate school, as all players must do if they want to continue…
