If you ask the average Ohio State football fan what they’re looking forward to seeing this season, they likely won’t get far before mentioning defensive ends Nick Bosa and Chase Young. Those are certainly understandable answers. Bosa is the reigning Big Ten Defensive Lineman of the Year, and Young came in last…
If you were to poll random Ohio State football fans about what they are looking forward to seeing most this season from the Buckeyes, the name Chase Young would come up quite a bit. As a freshman last season, the former 5-star prospect played when games were rarely in doubt, but still finished fifth on the team…
How do you replace five former starting defensive linemen in one season? Well, it helps to recruit as well as Ohio State has over the years, and it also helps to have an assistant coach like Larry Johnson trying to make it happen. The Buckeyes lose three-fourths of their defensive end rotation with the departures of Sam…
The Buckeyes were back on the practice field on Thursday morning at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center. Unlike Tuesday, reporters were not allowed in to watch any of the action, but we did get to talk to the players and coaches from the defensive line and wide receiver units after it was over. COLUMBUS — Ohio State held its second football practice of spring camp Thursday morning. Afterward, several members of the defensive line and receiving corps spoke with reporters, as did position coaches Larry Johnson and Zach Smith. Barrett’s abilities as a leader and the other side felt very strongly about his lack of abilities throwing the ball. It was a constant debate where neither side was going to be dissuaded…
The best thing about bowl games isn’t getting to see your team play one more time, it’s getting young players another month of practices to help them grow and get better in anticipation of helping out the following season. During the season, the practices are about implementing game plans and playing against the scout team…
