The No. 8 player on this list has 27 career receptions to his name, but 24 of those came last year as a redshirt junior. Now in his fifth-and-final season as a Buckeye, he is looking to be a focal point in a passing offense that sure could use one. Marcus Baugh has been a regular for the Buckeyes since the 2015 season…
Kevin Wilson has been around. He played his college football at North Carolina, which is also where he began his coaching career as a graduate assistant in 1984. From there he spent a few years enhancing his resume at smaller schools around the state. Then came a job as the offensive line coach for Miami (OH)…
The Ohio State Buckeyes have to replace their top three receivers from last season, which will always cause growing pains. The fortunate thing for OSU is that the players who stepped up this spring all saw the field in 2016. The unfortunate thing is that their production last season totaled just 54 receptions between…
Urban Meyer is one of the premier figures in college football. As such, assistant coaches around the country would do just about anything to be part of his program. When there is an opening on his staff, the résumés come rushing in like bingo balls. To expedite matters, Meyer keeps a running list of potential assistant coaches going…
There were several reasons why Urban Meyer chose to move the Ohio State offense in a new direction with two new offensive coordinator hires. Alexander. With Marcus Baugh rehabbing a shoulder injury, Spring drills proved to be an opportunity for the young guys…
Pass defense is a many-pronged attack, but the cohesion between pass rush and pass coverage will always be the key. You can dial up as many different looks and formations and defenses as you like, and they will all work as long you can rush the passer…
Kevin Wilson is in his sixth month of an ongoing 12-month commitment to the Ohio State offense. Spring football is well in the rear-view, while fall camp is still two months away. Long before the shoulder pads went on in the spring, however, work was being done in the winter to ensure that spring camp would be productive.
It has been several weeks or maybe just two weeks or maybe even a month since I last completed a mailbag. I don’t know how long it’s been, I just know that it’s been long enough that I don’t feel guilty at all about asking for submissions. Generally, sportswriters request submissions because they have nothing to write about.
Ohio State players and coaches from the offensive side of the ball have talked at length about the differences with the offense now with Kevin Wilson at the helm. If you want a different perspective, however, you go to the coaches who are trying to stop this new Buckeye offense.
