Everybody loves college football. If somebody tells you they don’t love it, they’re wrong. We look forward to particular games and watching certain players. Each week we get to see something new. That is especially true if you think about the sheer number of individual matchups there are to watch this season. And that’s just the Ohio State games.
Ohio State defensive linemen Robert Landers, Davon Hamilton, and Tommy Togiai are together plenty. They are friends and teammates, after all. The one place you generally won’t see them together, however, is on the field during a game. Playing the same nose tackle position as they do, they will be cutting into each other’s minutes every time they take a…
The No. 10 player on this list is about to embark on his fourth season in the Buckeyes’ nose tackle rotation and second year as a starter, and is still looking for a shot on the offensive side of the ball. Robert Landers was a late, but welcome addition to Ohio State’s 2015 recruiting class. After redshirting as a true freshman, he has been in Ohio State’s lineup whenever healthy.
When the Buckeyes take the practice field this July for the start of fall camp, they will have 17 scholarship defensive linemen on the roster. That equates to 20% of the allowed 85 scholarships, and gives OSU enough depth to go four deep at every spot and still have one guy left over. And that’s if 6-foot-4, 235-pound linebacker Cade Stover doesn’t…
Urban Meyer is on the cusp of coaching his final game as Ohio State’s head coach. The Rose Bowl has been a bucket list item for Meyer and next week he will finally get to check it off. Every day since his retirement, and probably a few well before it, Meyer has been taking stock of all of the “lasts” that he will be experiencing.
COLUMBUS, Ohio – A total of 12 Ohio State Buckeyes on the defensive side of the ball were named to all-Big Ten Conference teams announced today by the league. Junior DT Dre’mont Jones led the way with a first-team honor on the coaches’ ballot. Jones, from Cleveland and St. Ignatius High School, leads the defense with…
A Buckeye defense that finally showed improvement and put up a solid performance last week holding Michigan State to just two field goals, now has another obstacle they will have to face this week. Maryland interim head coach Matt Canada said Tuesday that the Terrapins starting quarterback Kasim Hill will miss the…
Earlier in the week, Ohio State announced the departure of junior defensive end Nick Bosa, who has chosen to focus on his rehabilitation in preparation for the 2019 NFL Draft. The Buckeyes have been without Bosa since the second half of the TCU game, so they have grown accustomed to his absence. Last week, that absence…
The Ohio State defense will be without one, and possibly two starting defensive ends when it faces Minnesota on Saturday. Nick Bosa is definitely out following abdominal surgery, and Jonathon Cooper is questionable following a concussion. Could this be defensive tackle Robert Landers’ big chance to move outside and rush off the edge? “Oh no, that’s too much running. That’s way too much running for me. I’m good where I’m at,” Landers said Wednesday.
The Indiana Hoosiers were this year’s lucky recipients of Ohio State’s post-Penn State hangover, as the Buckeyes turned the ball over three times, played without a great deal of urgency, and hurt themselves along the way to what was eventually still a comfortable 49-26 victory on homecoming. The running game and…
Dallas — Through three games this season, Ohio State junior defensive end Nick Bosa can make a strong argument that he is the best player in college football. A dominating defender, Bosa is equally as devastating against the rush or the pass. Offenses scheme entire game plans around him because if they don’t, they will…
