New Ohio State co-defensive coordinator Alex Grinch spent the last three years working with Washington State Mike Leach. Leach is known as one of the most eccentric head coaches in the nation. He can be outspoken about serious things and outspoken about trivial things. Everything you’ve seen from Leach on…
When Ohio State signed cornerback Shaun Wade a year ago, little did they know they had also locked freshman Tyreke Johnson into doing the same. No, there was no arm twisting, only the fulfillment of a promise that Johnson made to Wade when they were younger that they would end up playing college football together.
New Ohio State cornerbacks coach Taver Johnson is back with the Buckeyes after a six-year hiatus, and while OSU is not new to him, plenty has changed since he’s been gone. Names, faces, defensive coordinators, they have all changed since Johnson left for Arkansas in January of 2012. What has continued, however, is…
Denzel Ward was arguably the best cornerback in college football this past season. Per most NFL draftniks, the League views him as the best draft-eligible cornerback in in the nation, and for good reason. Ward finished third in the Big Ten this past season with 17 passes defended. Once something is established, it’s hard to go away from it. That’s why Urban Meyer is so adamant about building the culture at Ohio State and relying on it to replenish itself year after year. One such recent establishment for the Buckeyes is the three-man rotation at cornerback. Finally born a year ago, cornerbacks…

We have already gone through 80 things to look forward to this Buckeye football season, which is a lot. You might think that there is nothing else to look forward…
I just realized that splitting up this 100 Things into 10 pieces means that I have to come up with 10 separate intros. Intros are not my favorite things, and so sometimes I don’t put as much thought into them as I should. This intro, for instance, is probably going to be my worse one ever. But then I remember that I still have…
