There is plenty of talk about the large number of receivers who return for the Buckeyes this season, and even a little bit of talk about sophomore Jaylen Harris who only had a couple of catches last season. There has been virtually no talk about redshirt freshman Ellijah Gardiner, however. But don’t worry. “Man, a whole…
Members of the Ohio State football team met with reporters on Wednesday. Cornerbacks coach Taver Johnson and a pair of corners were on hand, as were linebackers coach Bill Davis and a handful of linebackers. They each provided updates on how spring ball is going and how their respective position groups are looking.
One of the differences between Jim Tressel and Urban Meyer’s football philosophies is that Meyer has chosen to have more offensive linemen on the roster than Tressel generally had. When he arrived at OSU, Meyer set about increasing the annual number of scholarship linemen per year by a couple, which gives the coaches…
One month from now, the Ohio State football program will send another cornerback into the first round of the NFL Draft. When Denzel Ward gets selected in the top half of the first round on April 26, that will give the Buckeyes five first rounders in the past five years. It’s a number that is unmatched in NFL history.

Taver Johnson last coached for the Buckeyes in the 2012 Gator Bowl. From there he went to Arkansas, and his family obviously went with him. Now that he is back, he is looking for a new place to live. It won’t be the same house they had before, but it also won’t be too far away. “Well, knock on wood, we’re hoping, we…
Whoever said you can’t go home again probably told Urban Meyer “no” once when a job was offered to him as well. Thomas Wolfe may have written an entire novel on the trials of returning home, but Taver Johnson has been living it for the past six years. When Meyer took the Ohio State job, his intentions were to retain…
