4-Star Quarterback Jarren Williams Sets Ohio State Official Visit

Jarren Williams

The Buckeyes will have a significant guest for the Illinois game in two weeks, according to reports from Justin Rowland of Rivals and Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports. Four-star 2018 quarterback Jarren Williams will be taking his official visit to Ohio State for the Nov. 18 games against the Illini.

Williams (Central Gwinnett HS/Lawrenceville, GA) is currently committed to the University of Kentucky, and has been since May. He is the No. 8 dual-threat quarterback in the nation per the 247Sports Composite. He is rated as the No. 205 player in the nation overall.

An Army All-American, Williams (6-2 206) threw for 2,596 yards and 22 touchdowns this past season.

It won’t just be an Ohio State – Kentucky battle, however, because Williams will also be taking an official visit to Miami this weekend and a trip to Auburn the week after he visits OSU.

The Buckeyes offered Williams last Wednesday, which came just a few days after Ohio State hosted their current quarterback Emory Jones on his official visit. Many are expecting Jones to decommit from OSU sooner rather than later, and the offer to Jarren Williams is an indication that the Buckeye coaches have already begun preparations for another quarterback search.

Getting Williams on campus for a visit was the first big step for Ohio State. What happens over the next three weeks, however, will go a long way toward determining where he will be playing his college ball in 2018.
