Brown (6-1 175), who is a teammate of fellow wide receiver signee Kamryn Babb at Christian Brothers College, camped at Ohio State this past summer and earned an offer. Following the offer, he decommitted from Nebraska, but then recommitted to the Huskers in August. Following the Nebraska coaching change, the Buckeyes were able to get back out in front.
Brown took an official visit to Ohio State two weekends ago and from there it seemed to be just a matter of time.
Ranked the No. 59 receiver in the 247Sports Composite and the No. 340 player overall, Brown also held offers from Alabama, Wisconsin, Georgia, Tennessee, Missouri, Wisconsin, and others.
At a The Opening Regional combine in Chicago this past April, Brown ran a 4.51, which was the fourth-fastest time at the entire event. He caught 58 passes for 934 yards and 13 touchdowns this past fall, averaging 16.1 yards per catch.
Brown joins three other receivers in Ohio State’s 2018 signing class. Outside pass catchers L’Christian “Blue” Smith and Kamryn Babb, along with H-back Jaelen Gill join with Brown to give the Buckeyes some talented and versatile options down the road.
Brown was named a First-Team All-State performer this past season, and watching his senior highlights below it is easy to see why. He is a productive receiver all over the field and can be a volume catcher for the Buckeyes down the road. He has long arms and ability after the catch. His highlights show tremendous hands, but videos like these don’t normally include the drops.
We will have more on Brown’s signing later.
