Ohio State freshman wide receiver Trevon Grimes has reportedly transferred to Florida per David Furones of the Sun-Sentinel.
Grimes was one of the highest-rated of the 2017 signees for the Buckeyes, but he spent most of the season at home in Fort Lauderdale, Florida due to health issues in his family, according to OSU head coach Urban Meyer.
Grimes played in two games, catching three passes for 20 yards this season.
“I just felt like [Florida] fit for me,” he told the Sun-Sentinel. “It’s close to home. Of course, being in my situation that I’m in right now, I have to be close to home.
Throughout the season, the Ohio State coaches were hopeful that Grimes would return to campus, but by signing four receivers in the 2018 recruiting class, they were also realistic about those odds.
Ohio State has not yet confirmed the transfer.
Grimes, however, has.

Too bad about the health issues in his family. Best of luck to him.
This was a bad loss. How can he attend college at all if his family needs him so much? Football is a full time gig.
Good luck to Trevon! Praying for a good outcome with Family problems. Buckeye fan here thanking you for being straight up about your situation. God Bless you in the future with your career.
