Ohio State men’s basketball coach Chris Holtmann announced on Wednesday that senior guard Kam Williams is expected to play Thursday night at Penn State. What role he will have immediately is undetermined.
Williams was suspended for “a violation of team rules” and missed the last three games. In his absence, the Buckeyes won games against Illinois, No. 3 Purdue, and Iowa.
Williams is averaging 8.0 points per game this season, shooting a career high .486 from the field and .463 from three-point territory.
In Ohio State’s lone Big Ten loss this season, Williams scored 10 points on 4-of-6 shooting against Penn State. With him back in the lineup, the OSU offense should be a bit more diverse.
Without Williams, sophomore forward Andre Wesson has started all three games, which included a 13-point effort in the 64-63 win at Purdue.
