COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State football schedules for the 2020 and 2021 seasons are now complete with the addition of the University of Buffalo to the 2020 schedule (Sept. 19 at Ohio Stadium) and the  University of Akron to the 2021 schedule (Sept. 25 at Ohio Stadium).

Ohio State’s 2020 campaign now includes non-conference home games against Mid-American Conference schools Bowling Green and Buffalo on either side of a Power 5 contest at Pac-12 member Oregon. Games that season outside of the Big Ten Conference East matchups are against Iowa, Nebraska and Illinois.

The 2021 schedule features the home half of the two-game series against Oregon – Sept. 11 – followed consecutively by non-conference matchups against Tulsa and Akron. Ohio State will open the 2021 season at Minnesota and the team will also play divisional crossover games at Nebraska and against Purdue.

Ohio State and Akron have met eight times previously with Ohio State holding a 7-1 edge in the series. The last meeting between the two teams came in the 2011 season.

The game against Buffalo will be just the second contest between the two teams with the only other contest being played in 2013, a 40-20 Ohio State win.

  1. I see the Buckeyes added two power-houses…Akron and Buffalo!

    1. That home and home was changed to a neutral site game at Jerryworld this year.

  2. IIRC, last time we played Buffalo, Taylor Decker was getting abused by the Buffalo DE, and I thought, mmmm this Decker guy is not very good!
Turns out the DE was Khalil Mack, now an All Pro in the NFL. one of the top 25 players in the whole league!!

    1. Khalil Mack was a linebacker in college, but yah. He was a wrecking ball that day and arguably the best player on the field.
