Ohio State in Top 2 for 2020’s No. 3 Offensive Guard Luke Wypler

Four-star Montvale, New Jersey (St. Joseph Regional High School) offensive lineman Luke Wypler released his Top 2 late Wednesday night and the Buckeyes made the cut along with Stanford.

Wypler (6-4 285) is the No. 3 offensive guard in the 2020 class according to the 247Sports Composite and the No. 75 player overall.

He also holds offers from Notre Dame, North Carolina, Florida, Michigan, Ole Miss, Penn State, Tennessee, and Wisconsin.

Wypler visited his two finalists last month and clearly both visits went pretty well.

His visit to Stanford was two weeks ago, which came two weeks after his OSU visit.

After pondering things for a couple of weeks, Wypler found a pair of schools to his liking.

Generally, Ohio State has inroads with Ohioans, but with Wypler being from New Jersey, the Buckeyes had a man on the inside long ago.

With five Crystal Ball predictions made, Ohio State holds four of them, with the fifth vote being wasted on the third-party candidate Notre Dame.

Wypler plays left tackle for his high school team and is gaining valuable pass blocking experience. He is mobile and can block on an island out wide, or pull and run block with a vengeance.

Wypler, who could end up anywhere on the interior in college, is one of just three guards who have been offered by OSU so far. Five-star Justin Rogers (No. 13 player overall/No. 1 OG) out of Oak Park, Michigan has 14 Crystal Board predictions and they look thusly.

The Buckeyes have a pair of offensive linemen already committed in the 2020 class. Five-star offensive tackle Paris Johnson committed last week, and four-star Jake Wray has been committed since April.
