Ohio State head football coach Urban Meyer is back on the job full-time after the end of his suspension.
Monday, for the first time in nearly a month, Meyer met with the media to answer questions at his weekly press conference.
Topics included the Zach Smith situation and investigation and Meyer’s subsequent suspension.
However, he also spent time talking football as well.
One big piece of news is that star defensive end Nick Bosa will miss this weekend’s game against Tulane due to what he called an “abdominal, groin” injury.
Meyer discussed the performance of the No. 4 Buckeyes under Ryan Day, and looked ahead to the Buckeyes home game against Tulane on Saturday.
You can watch the entire press conference below.

Hey Buckeye fans, let’s get on the Meyer bandwagon. I know most of you are already there and have been, but there are a very few Turkeys out there who are trying to upset the apple cart so to speak. It’s history and all those Turkeys need to let it go and go forward starting this weekend’s game against Tulane and the rest of this season. Go Buckeyes!
What a sorry interview with some sorry interviewers! There was one point about 30 minutes or so into the interview that changed when one question came up about Bosa’s injury, but immediately after he finished talking about that situation, the very next interviewer went right back to the Zack Smith situation. It also seemed like some of the same questions or similar ones came up and they just couldn’t give up on that subject and/or they weren’t satisfied by what he was saying. It almost seemed as if they were trying to confuse Coach Meyer into saying something that would seem to agree with their own thinking. It seemed like they wanted him to say something bad against their thinking as if they were wanting him fired. This interview should have not lasted more that 10 or 15 minutes on the Zack Smith situation and the rest of the time on the football players and what happened this weekend and the days ahead. He certainly gave praise to the coaches, but that didn’t last long as they seemingly weren’t satisfied about the Smith situation and went back to that when ever the conversation changed to the football program. To me there were at least 30 to 40 minutes of wasted time in this interview that could have benefited the Buckeye football team and program.
The clowns over at 11 warriors won’t let it go. It amazes me how much they are reporting about this issue today.
I enjoy this web site and it writers.
Go Bucks beat Tulane
Tony hates me, but I still love him as a writer and he’s a genuine guy regardless. Like 11 Warriors this place has it’s fair share of Scarlet color PC glasses wearing dorks, but mostly there’s a great group of people posting here. Just say what you SEE and let the chips fall where they will. You’re guaranteed to get knocked around if you say boo about bad play and coaching, but laugh at the pink hat wearing crowd.
Wouldn’t it have been wonderful to hear what he learned watching the game, and what steps he was taking to help the team improve? I wish no one any ill, but Zach and Country can go F themselves. They aren’t Achilles and their name should already be scrubbed from Ohio State history. The media simply needs to talk football, and let the dead stay dead.
(Courtney)^ see can’t even remember her name and don’t really want to.
STD………SICK TO DEATH of the media clowns setting up circus events when the issue is done and over with, and HAS been for a few weeks now.
If the media doesn’t have actual football questions they should just shut the hell up and stay away from these conferences. We want to discuss the team, what needs to improve, what the staff is doing to help them get better, address injuries, the next opponent. The media is actively taking away the fans time to learn about their team.
Note to Urban Meyer. Stay away from being a CEO, and simply focus on football. Ohio State doesn’t pay you to be a CEO, a Compliance Officer, a member of the Title IX Board, and HR person. Your job is to help develop the young men in your charge be good citizens, good football players and represent their school with honor and dignity…….prepare them for their futures. DO NOT BE A CEO. That’s how administrations conflate your responsibilities, and they do it because they want someone under them to do THEIR job, and to blame you for situations they should have been on top of, but neglected to do.
