Football The Rivalry

Buckeye Field Access: Views and Big Plays From the Sideline

Michigan quarterback Shea Patterson

Ohio State spent the final Saturday of the college football regular season ritually disemboweling its bitter rival from up north.

You know this already, of course, but we’re guessing that you’re probably still okay with reading and watching more about it.

Just in case you weren’t aware, the Buckeyes handed Michigan a humiliating 62-39 loss at Ohio Stadium, crushing the Wolverines’ hopes at their first Big Ten championship since 2004 and their first College Football Playoff berth since… well… ever.

There was a lot to take in, whether you were watching on TV or in the seats in the Horseshoe.

Like the fact that in 139 seasons of playing football, no Michigan team had ever given up that many points in a regulation football game.

Or the fact that Michigan’s last three trips to Columbus as a favorite (1994, 2004, 2018) have all ended in humiliating multi-score defeats.

Again, you probably know all this already, but are likely okay with reading about it just one more time.

Regardless, you probably didn’t get to spend the last half of the fourth quarter at field level.

That’s okay, because TheOzone had multiple people on the field for the final daggers of the Buckeyes’ big win, and the celebration that followed.

Below are some of the biggest moments of the final act of today’s game (plus one from the pregame), as seen from field level.

  1. It never gets old watching the fans covered the field after a win over TSUN. I’ve been able to witness several of these games since 2001.

  2. What a great experience for you guys. Thanks for sharing.

  3. Ahhhhhhh….the sweet smell of INEVITABILITY!
