Before the season, Wisconsin was considered an absolute lock to win the Big Ten West
It would have been the third straight year and the fourth time in five tries for the Badgers.
But a funny thing happened on the way to an Ohio State – Wisconsin rematch: Northwestern stole the division away from them.
And the Wildcats didn’t just barely squeak into the title game, either. They clinched their spot in Indianapolis two weeks before Ohio State locked in their berth.
Monday, head coach Pat Fitzgerald and a handful of Northwestern players met with the media to preview the big game.
The ‘Cats come in as a 14-point underdog, but that’s nothing new for them. They won as a 5-point underdog against Wisconsin this year, and an 11-point underdog at Iowa.
