4-Star Linebacker Tommy Eichenberg Commits To Ohio State

Ohio State football recruit Tommy Eichenberg

The Buckeyes just added a big piece to their 2019 recruiting class.

Linebacker Tommy Eichenberg, a 4-star prospect from Cleveland’s St. Ignatius High School, has committed to the Buckeyes and becomes the first verbal commitment of the Ryan Day Era. He tweeted the news Thursday evening.

Eichenberg is ranked as the No. 19 inside linebacker and 319th-best player overall in the class.

He had been committed to Boston College until mid-November, but reopened his recruitment. Eichenberg then visited Ohio State for the Michigan game.

He picked the Buckeyes over an offer from the Wolverines.

His older brother, Liam, is an offensive lineman at Notre Dame.

Tommy Eichenberg is the second true linebacker in the Buckeyes’ 2019 class. OLB Cade Stover from Mansfield is another 4-star prospect who committed back in April.
