It is still winter and spring ball is a month away, which means the Ohio State football team is right in the middle of winter workouts.
For the freshmen, it’s a brand new world. A literal and figurative wakeup call, if you will. For the veterans, it’s nothing new, but that doesn’t make it any easier.
Despite that, things have gone well for the Buckeyes so far this winter.
While speaking with reporters on Wednesday, Ohio State head coach Ryan Day was pleased with his team, and cited that morning’s early workout as an example.
“To see the energy we had this morning at 6 a.m., we had a meeting in here right before that that was unbelievable,” he said. “The energy at 5:55 that coaches had with these players was tremendous. Even after the drill, the energy they had in the locker room. There’s life there. I think there’s excitement there.”
Want some proof?
Early Wednesday evening, the Ohio State Football Twitter account posted some clips of that morning’s mat drills to show exactly what life is like for players this winter.
