A little over two weeks after visiting Ohio State unofficially, 4-star St. Louis (Trinity Catholic) receiver Mookie Cooper has included the Buckeyes in his top five.
Cooper also included Miami, USC, Illinois, and Texas in his final five. He released the news via Twitter.

Ranked the No. 12 receiver in the 2020 recruiting class per the 247Composite and the No. 66 player overall, Cooper (5-9 193) plays all over the field for his Trinity Catholic High School. He projects to the slot in college, but could also end up at running back or on defense. Ohio State is looking at him as a slot receiver.
Cooper committed to Texas this past winter, but decommitted a few weeks later. He has also taken visits to Illinois, Oklahoma, and LSU.
OSU receivers coach Brian Hartline watched Cooper in person this past weekend.
At one of The Opening Regional combines in April, Cooper ran a 4.49. He earned an invite to The Opening Finals this July.
As a junior, Cooper amassed 1,153 yards of total offense and scored 18 touchdowns, earning Third-Team All-State accolades.
On the field, Cooper is a dynamic playmaker with the ball in his hands. He has the speed the Buckeyes like at the position and the agility needed to make plays in one-on-one situations.
With 10 Crystal Ball projections made so far, it’s anybody’s guess as to where Cooper is leaning.
With a rankings update from Rivals and the 247Sports Composite on Tuesday, the Buckeyes currently have commitments from three Top 100 wide receivers.
Julian Fleming, who committed this past Friday, is the No. 1 receiver and the No. 5 player overall. Washington receiver Gee Scott Jr. is the No. 14 receiver and No. 68 player, and Texas receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba is the No. 17 receiver and No. 85 player overall.
Ohio State still needs a true slot receiver to go with the three outside receivers already committed. Smith-Njigba could end up in the slot in a role similar to KJ Hill, but the Buckeyes are also looking for a Rondale Moore-type of mightymite in this class.
Also read where Rosemy is a “take” if he wants in. Not sure how that might affect the current commit Smith-Njigba if at all.
Ummm how many WRs are we looking to add? Might be time to focus on a few other positions.
Four was always the number I had been told, but if Julian Fleming would have been the fifth, they wouldn’t have said no.
