The Associated Press released its 2019 preseason college football poll Monday, and the Buckeyes are back near the top of the rankings.
OSU checks in at No. 5, behind only defending national champion Clemson, Alabama, Georgia, and Oklahoma.
The rest of the top-10 includes No. 6 LSU, No. 7 Michigan, No. 8 Florida, No. 9 Notre Dame, and No. 10 Texas.
Penn State is ranked 15th, Michigan State is 18th, Wisconsin is 19th, Iowa is 20th, and Nebraska is 24th, despite coming off of a 4-8 season.

It’s the first time Clemson has ever been ranked atop the preseason AP poll.

Then why are they ranked #5 after losing the head coach, record setting QB and #2 draft pick? I believe(know) the real reason is because they STRUGGLE against weak opponents….often. Oh yeah, and lose a game to another weak, lesser opponent.
Previous comment was a response to Dallas Buckeye comment.
again, look for the (nonsense) poll-screwing and plummet to soon commence, starting perhaps this weekend with fla should/when they drop miami fla. even if bucks throttle fla-at and cinci (btw, the latter isn’t going to happen by any stretch) by a combined 80 pts, they will still drop below tx-lsu winner, and on and on we go. just the way it is, and certainly the cfp isn’t going to help. been there, done that….
cheers!
