The 2019 Ohio State football team got off to a winning start Saturday in the Horseshoe.

The Buckeyes knocked off Florida Atlantic, 45-21 in front of 103,228 fans in Ohio Stadium.

It was the first win for Ryan Day as Ohio State’s full-time head coach, and marked the debut of sophomore quarterback Justin Fields.

The Buckeye offense exploded out of the gates to take a 28-0 lead less than 10 minutes into the game.

The OSU defense was spectacular in the first half as well, holding FAU to negative yardage in the first 30 minutes of the game.

Afterward, Day, Fields, co-defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley, safety Jordan Fuller, offensive linemen Branden Bowen and Josh Myers, defensive end Chase Young, and tight end Jeremy Ruckert were among the Buckeyes who met with the media.
