The Ohio State Buckeyes open Big Ten play this weekend at Indiana.
In the third week of the season, it’s the start of a new journey. The defense of the Bucks’ 2017 and 2018 conference championships starts in Bloomington.
If everything goes according to plan, that trip to the conference title will end just up the road in the capital city of Indianapolis with the 2019 Big Ten Championship Game.
But first, they have to earn their way there.
Former Buckeye wide receiver Terry McLaurin, an Indianapolis native, narrates the pregame trailer video for this week’s Big Ten opener.
It highlights some of the program’s past conference titles.
“We’ve never been gifted anything. We’ve fought for every win,” McLaurin says.
The message is clear: if the Buckeyes want to get back onto that podium inside Lucas Oil Field in three months, they have to handle their business now.
“Those trophies we seek aren’t won in just one game in December. They are the culmination of a journey, an honor earned week-by-week.”
