We expected a close game and got a blowout but you probably won’t hear many Ohio State fans complain about that except for maybe some clown known as the Grumpy Old Buckeye. There were many positives on Saturday for the Buckeyes and all that remains to be seen is how good of a team Cincinnati really is in 2019. Hopefully the Bearcats are as good as or better than last year, because that would speak well of Ohio State’s 42-0 win on Saturday.
Chip and I break down the Bearcat beatdown both offensively and defensively and see how we did with our score predictions and picks to click from last week’s show. Neither of us is exactly covered in glory but we’re not going to mope about it if a 42-0 win is the result of simply being wrong. Justin Fields, J.K. Dobbins, the offensive line, Master Teague, Chase Young, Malik Harrison, Shaun Wade, and Drue Chrisman all had outstanding games and many other Buckeyes weren’t far behind.
After the Cincy discussion, we talk a bit about what’s going on elsewhere in the B1G, including a near debacle for the Wolverines in Ann Arbor, Nebraska’s slow start, Maryland’s impressive offense, and more.
Finally, we dig into what we think will happen this Saturday in Bloomington when the Buckeyes visit their home away from home to play the Hoosiers. Will it be another scare like a few years back or will Ohio State handle the Hoosiers as well as they did the Bearcats? Maybe it’s somewhere in between, but we’ll be back to talk about that next week.
