Marvin Harrison, Michael Thomas Ohio State Recruiting Buckeyes

Ohio State landed a commitment from 2021 wide receiver Marvin Harrison, Jr. on Thursday. Harrison is the son of NFL Hall of Fame receiver Marvin Harrison.

The commitment was announced via Twitter.

Harrison (6-4 184) plays for St. Joseph’s Prep in Philadelphia. He is teammates with 2021 OSU quarterback commit Kyle McCord.

Harrison is ranked the No. 8 receiver in the 2021 class and the No. 54 player overall per the 247Sports Composite.

The Buckeyes were seen as the favorite to land Harrison for a while now. He committed to the Buckeyes over offers from Michigan, LSU, Notre Dame, Penn State, Texas A&M, and many others.

Growing up around the game, Harrison is advanced as a high school receiver and is able to combine that knowledge with his frame, speed, and athleticism to make for one of the nation’s top players.

Harrison has been timed at various combines in the 4.60 to 4.64 range.

Ohio State now has six commitments in the 2021 class. Harrison is the second receiver in the class, joining Massillon’s Jayden Ballard, who is the No. 12 receiver in the 2021 cycle and the No. 74 player overall.

The Buckeyes also have a commitment from Pickerington North defensive end Jack Sawyer, who is the No. 2 player in the entire class. The aforementioned Kyle McCord is the No. 5 quarterback and No. 29 player in the nation. Richfield offensive lineman commitment Ben Christman is the No. 9 offensive tackle and No. 50 player in the class.

Ohio State also has a commitment from Ironton inside linebacker Reid Carrico, who is the No. 2 player at his position and No. 125 player overall.

The 2021 class currently ranks first in the Big Ten and fourth in the nation.

  1. Makes sense he is pictured with Can’tGuardMike. Watching Marvin’s tape, he even plays like M.T.!

  2. Great to be looking forward to another recruit with a pedigree bloodline. From what I’ve read, Marvin Jr. is both a quality athlete and quality person. Just the kind of young man we Buckeye fans love to have representing OSU.

  3. The buckeyes got a treat today on Halloween. With Ryan Day as head coach our passing game will continue to go up and attract WRs and QBs from all over the country.

  4. The beat goes on! Welcome aboard Marvin.

He’s a very high caliber football player, and, best of all he’s a very high caliber young man. Crystal Ball projects exactly no redshirt season.
