Ryan Day spent a decent portion of his final pre-Rutgers press conference talking about a player who won’t play in the game.
Thursday afternoon was the first opportunity for Day to discuss the reinstatement of junior defensive end Chase Young. He will sit out this weekend’s game as the second game of a two-game suspension, but be back for next weekend’s showdown against Penn State.
Day was unsurprisingly happy with the news about Young. He said Young won’t travel with the team this weekend, and will stay home to lift and prepare for the Penn State game.
He also discussed an injury update on senior captain C.J. Saunders, the growth and development of freshman DE Zach Harrison, and using the middle of the field in the passing game.
He also provided some advice for the Buckeyes’ No. 1 club football team as it enters its postseason, and more.
