Ohio State did the thing, finishing 13-0, winning the outright Big Ten title for the third consecutive season, and beating all opponents by double digits. The reward for that is to play Clemson in the Fiesta Bowl with the winner going on to take on whoever makes it out of the Peach Bowl — LSU or Oklahoma. We are here to break down the Buckeyes’ 34-21 win in the Big Ten championship against the Wisconsin Badgers and check on our picks to click and our score predictions.
The College Football Playoff Committee continues to find new and inventive ways to anger Ohio State fans, and we’re here to talk about that as well, and to figure out where the committee might move the goalposts next. The Buckeyes completed an extraordinary stretch by beating three top 15 teams (two of them in the top 10) by double figures in consecutive weeks and will need to finish with five consecutive top 15 wins and four consecutive top 10 wins to capture the national championship. As AC/DC sang, “if you want blood, you got it.”
The Buckeyes have a couple of Heisman finalists and one more guy who got snubbed. We handicap our finishing order beyond the top four guys who are going to New York City for the ceremony.
Finally, we talk about the bowl games the Big Ten teams will be going to, and a few other bowl match-ups as well. Yes, there really is a Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl and we’re sure the game’s trophy is grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat!
