WATCH: Ohio State Players And Coaches Preview Penn State Game

Ohio State football Beat Penn State

The No. 4 Ohio State Buckeyes will travel to State College, Pa. this weekend to face No. 9 Penn State.

It’s a showdown that could decide not only the Big Ten East, but also the conference, and potentially a berth in the College Football Playoff as well.

The Buckeyes enter with a perfect 4-0 record, but lost on their last trip to Happy Valley.

This weekend will mark the first start in a truly hostile road atmosphere for OSU quarterback Dwayne Haskins.

It will also provide a stiff test for the Buckeyes’ young defense, especially since they’ll be without star defensive end Nick Bosa.

  1. PSU will take OSU down by abusing the LBs and using their uncoordinated aggressiveness lobbing the ball over their heads to sneaking TE’s and screens and then mixing in option reads and keep the ball from OSU offense. They will blitz Haskins and make him throw picks. They will run for a combined 350 yards, control the time of possession and finish off with few bombs that get a couple of TDs and a couple.of PIs. OSU will run for less than 150. I have PSU by at least 10.

  2. I do have a question though. WHO is going to be Michael Jordan’s back-up with Brady Taylor undergoing knee surgery?

  3. I’ve watched a couple of press meets with Tuf and this one is the first one where I see where he’s not comfortable with 1st his level of play and 2nd the over-all play of his unit. It’s like he has something else to say, but knows he shouldn’t and doesn’t. Being injured my concern for him was trying to come back too soon. I really have watched the games and he’s just not there yet.

    Pass on Pete’s comments.

I’m not in the least bit concerned about pass blocking, but I am concerned about the rush blocking on the left side. That’s completely flipped from the past season. Hopefully Thayer and Malcom can clean it up starting this week. PSU is capable of of defending 53.3 yards of the field, and the Buckeye offense needs to be efficient in the same way, not just 80′ for the rush game.

Dwayne will be Dwayne. Give him time and he and the receivers will maul the back end of the Twittany Whelps defense.

Kevin Wilson has done a fantastic job up in the booth guiding the offense and it’s adjustments.
