Good is the enemy of great. Michigan is good. Ohio State is great. And once again the Buckeyes asserted their dominance over a Michigan team that had such high expectations and failed to meet almost every last one of them. Ohio State won The Game 56-27 on Saturday, the eighth time in a row they have made the Wolverines rethink their respective life choices.
It was a rain-soaked afternoon as Ohio State hosted — and bested — the Wisconsin Badgers by a score of 38-7, but don’t worry — the press box was relatively dry. I stayed upstairs and watched the game as long as I could, but I eventually had to make my way downstairs, which is usually when Master Teague picks up 50 of his 80 rushing yards. At this point, I’m not…
The Ohio State football team faced its latest test this past Saturday, passing with gliding colors. (They were one step below “flying colors,” which means there is no power of flight at that point, but there still is some type of ability to drift slowly to the ground.) The Buckeyes beat the Spartans 34-10 and — in one of the most impressive feats I’ve ever seen in college football — they had 11 more yards in the second quarter (296) than Michigan State did in the entire game (285).
There’s a reason the Buckeye Watch went away for a while and that’s because it’s tough to find time to clean it up during weeks when the Buckeyes are on the road, which is the situation I’ve run into following the Nebraska game, but you aren’t interested in reading me whine. Actually, over the dozen years or so that I’ve done this, roughly 18% of each Buckeye Watch…
Ohio State scored 42 points in the second quarter of Saturday’s 76-5 win over the Miami RedHawks. The carnage was indescribable. Actually, it was very describable. Amazing. Ridiculous. Impressive. Cheeky. It all works. I’m going to assume this is the first 76-5 score in Buckeye football history. Justin Fields was once again very good.
For a second week in a row, the Ohio State Buckeyes faced an opponent capable of not being run over and ran them right over. Ohio State wandered into Indiana and left the highways teeming with roadkill. The Buckeyes opened up a 30-3 and closed out just as devastatingly, driving away with a 51-10 win over the Hoosiers. I wouldn’t call it a vacation…
Just as somebody probably predicted somewhere, the Ohio State Buckeyes put it to the Cincinnati Bearcats and came away with a 42-0 shutout win. Justin Fields was accurate, JK Dobbins was explosive, the receivers were open, the offensive line was suggestive, and the defensive line was not. The back seven continues…
Ohio State went into Saturday’s game as 27.5-point favorites and covered within the first nine minutes of the game. And then The Lull happened. The Buckeyes still won easily and were never threatened. A 45-21 victory in the season opener against Florida Atlantic isn’t the final I would have come up with after the first quarter, but it’s the one…
