Thursday morning, Ohio State defensive coordinator Greg Schiano met with the media, along with defensive tackle Dre’Mont Jones, defensive ends Jonathon Cooper and Chase Young, and linebacker Tuf Borland. It was the first formal press conference in the lead-up to the game.
Former Ohio State head coach Jim Tressel was fond of saying that players don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care. In other words, before they are willing to put in the necessary work for a man they don’t know, they want to know they’re doing it for a coach who has their best interests at heart.
Over the one hundred-plus years of Ohio State playing Michigan, the Buckeyes have won any number of ways. There have been close wins, come-from-behind wins, blowouts, comfortable-but-still-kind-of-close wins like in 2007, and even a win in the Game of the Century in 2006. Over the last three years, however, the Buckeyes…
COLUMBUS, Ohio – A total of 12 Ohio State Buckeyes on the defensive side of the ball were named to all-Big Ten Conference teams announced today by the league. Junior DT Dre’mont Jones led the way with a first-team honor on the coaches’ ballot. Jones, from Cleveland and St. Ignatius High School, leads the defense with…
All season long, the Ohio State linebackers have been the target of harsh criticism. Since Nick Bosa suffered a season-ending injury against TCU, the Buckeye defensive ends have struggled at times to meet expectations as well. Saturday, everything finally clicked for the OSU defense in a 62-39 blowout of arch-rival Michigan. A Buckeye defense that finally showed improvement and put up a solid performance last week holding Michigan State to just two field goals, now has another obstacle they will have to face this week. Maryland interim head coach Matt Canada said Tuesday that the Terrapins starting quarterback Kasim Hill will miss the…
Earlier in the week, Ohio State announced the departure of junior defensive end Nick Bosa, who has chosen to focus on his rehabilitation in preparation for the 2019 NFL Draft. The Buckeyes have been without Bosa since the second half of the TCU game, so they have grown accustomed to his absence. Last week, that absence…
COLUMBUS — Ohio State will be without starting defensive end Jonathon Cooper and starting outside linebacker Malik Harrison today when the Buckeyes take on the Minnesota Golden Gophers. Kickoff is set for noon and the game can be seen on Fox Sports 1. Both players left last week’s game against Indiana early and…
Not sure about you, but I’m still so excited from that TCU win this past weekend that I can hardly see straight. Well, it could be that, or that I’m delirious from a lack of sleep since our baby boy was born last Thursday night. Nah, it’s probably the football win. Regardless, as with most week’s stat projections, I hit on a few…
The Ohio State football team returned to the practice field on Tuesday, and for the first time in more than a month, their head coach was out there with them.
The Buckeyes must replace three departed defensive ends from last season who are now in the NFL, as well as their last two starting nose tackles. That’s roughly 80 career starts gone from a unit that is finally experiencing some significant changes. Despite the losses, there are some who believe that this year’s Ohio State…
