October 23, 2004 | This story comes from John Porentas and details a game of many firsts for some all-time great Buckeyes. On one hand, this is just your standard game story between Indiana and Ohio State. On the other hand, this also captures the first career start for Troy Smith, who was bumped up the depth chart due to a Justin Zwick injury.
May 21, 2012 | This story comes from Tony Gerdeman and was published seven years ago today. It details the thoughts on Ohio State hiring Urban Meyer from a few former Michigan football greats. The former players are excited about the hire because … I don’t know why they were excited. They shouldn’t have been. — TG
March 29, 2012 | This story comes from Tony Gerdeman and details Kerry Coombs’ first spring practice as Ohio State’s cornerbacks coach. Coombs was a late addition to Urban Meyer’s staff, but none were more valuable. Coombs’ intensity made him an instant favorite among Buckeye fans, and much of that intensity was present in his very first…
The Buckeyes thought they had their 2016 quarterback locked and ready. Tristen Wallace was the 10th-ranked athlete in the country according to the 247Sports Composite after throwing for 2,167 yards and 12 touchdowns and rushing for 1,478 more yards and 16 additional scores as a senior in high school. The DeSoto, Texas native committed to…
December 17, 2010 | Old pal Brandon Castel (@BCastOhio) brought us this story way back when. Jim Tressel immediately stepped in, though would then step down before Shazier ever suited up for the Buckeyes.
January 12, 2011 | This is a column written by Tony Gerdeman following the hiring of Brady Hoke to be Michigan’s head coach. Wolverine fans weren’t happy about hiring a head coach with a losing career record, so this column was meant to tell those fans that, yeah, you’re probably right and he’s probably not great, but at least you got rid of RichRod. — TG

April 1, 2012 | This was no prank by Ezekiel Elliott, though he would have Buckeye fans terribly nervous when he began to waver on his commitment in the winter and then ultimately announce on signing day that he would stick with Ohio State. Elliott would go on to rush for 3,961 yards in his OSU career, finishing second all-time in rushing yardage…
November 11, 1998 | Ohio State’s inexplicable loss to Michigan State in 1998 is so painful to Buckeye fans that some have protected themselves by joking that that game doesn’t actually exist. In other words, Ohio State and Michigan State never played in 1998 and any references to the game are met with confusion and a quick change of the subject.

Holtz had the privilege of coaching against John Cooper in his final game the year before, and then the privilege of coaching against Jim Tressel in Tressel’s first bowl game.
September 3, 2007 | My generation’s most memorable “Where were you?” Michigan loss was Colorado’s Hail Mary win in Ann Arbor in 1994. Thirteen years later, the college football gods gave another generation their own memorable Wolverine loss, but this one happened to be an all-timer. Michigan was ranked No. 5…
