Every Tuesday the Big Ten holds its weekly coaches teleconference, and this week Penn State’s James Franklin and Ohio State’s Urban Meyer took their requisite eight minutes to preview their upcoming game against each other this week. Franklin went first and answered a series of questions about his team and the challenges that Ohio State will present.
Think back to the Buckeyes’ past trips to Happy Valley, and odds are you’re thinking of an Ohio State loss. There was the 63-14 destruction in 1994. Joe Germaine throwing for 378 yards in a 31-27 classic in 1997. Zack Mills running wild to pull off a dramatic comeback win in 2001. Tamba Hali coming off the corner to sack Troy Smith to seal the game in 2005…
The No. 4 Ohio State Buckeyes (4-0) hit the road Saturday to face No. 9 Penn State (4-0). The Bucks beat Tulane, 49-6 last weekend. Penn State comes in off a 63-24 win over Illinois. The Nittany Lions were only up 28-24 after three quarters, but exploded to outscore the Illini 35-0 in the final quarter. Ohio State is a 3.5-point favorite. Here’s everything you need to know to enjoy Ohio State vs. Penn State…
The Buckeyes squeaked out a 49-6 win over the mighty Tulane Green Wave on Saturday and we’re here to talk about all the things we liked and didn’t like about Ohio State’s fourth win of the season in as many tries. Everyone is talking about Dwayne Haskins and Parris Campbell, but we found a lot of other things to enjoy from the win.
The No. 4 Ohio State football team will get its toughest test of the season this Saturday when they travel to No. 9 Penn State. The Buckeyes already have one win over a top-15 team away from from home, but the Nittany Lions should pose a more difficult challenge than TCU did. It’s also the first true road game of the season. Unlike the trip to Texas earlier this month, the stadium will not be filled with Buckeye fans. OSU blew a 21-7 fourth quarter lead and lost its last game at Beaver Stadium in 2016…
Business is about to pick up for the Ohio State football team and redshirt sophomore starting quarterback Dwayne Haskins. Haskins has performed better than anyone could have realistically expected and has led the Buckeyes to a 4-0 record. With double-digit wins over Oregon State, Rutgers, TCU, and Tulane to start the…
Saturday, the Buckeyes disposed of their in-season scrimmage opponent, Tulane, with the expectation everyone had planned. To be honest, there was not a lot, if any, doubt that Ohio State would easily roll the Green Wave. Tulane came to Columbus knowing it was the lone “true” sacrificial lamb on the 2018 Ohio State schedule.
The No. 4-ranked Buckeyes (4-0, 1-0) have been installed as the favorite for their trip this Saturday to face No. 9 Penn State (4-0, 1-0) in State College. Currently, Ohio State is a 3.5-point favorite over the Nittany Lions. The home team is 4-1 against the spread in the last five meetings. That is not the only trend that should…
COLUMBUS — A big question unanswered coming out of the Buckeyes’ 49-6 win over Tulane on Saturday was junior running back Mike Weber’s health and status for next week’s game at Penn State. Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer said after the game that Weber has a foot strain, but he should be fine for next week.
We are a mere three days away from fall camp starting. I tend to get a little excited every year but this year seems different. The Buckeyes lost a bunch of big name players, but there just seems to be up-and-coming five-star after up-and-coming five-star ready to step in. Take a look at the defensive line where Ohio State lost…
