Day, a former assistant under Chip Kelly, is seen as a perfect fit to guide an offense led by Tennessee quarterback Marcus Mariota, who played at Oregon during Kelly’s final seasons as the head coach there. Day has been the co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for just one season at OSU, but in that year he helped raise…
Ohio State football is about to embark on a new journey, led by a brand new starting quarterback. This is a situation that produces plenty of stomach acid for a head coach, as they operate in a world where the known is almost always better than the unknown. This, of course, flies in the face of the world of the fans, where the unknown…
Ohio State was going to land a very talented quarterback in the 2018 recruiting cycle, it’s just that most people thought it would be Emory Jones. Instead, the OSU coaches could never get Jones to fully commit to Ohio State, so they had to set out to find a fall-back plan. That plan took them through tapes of quarterbacks from all over the place.
USA Today ran a piece this week about college football’s highest-paid assistant coaches and whether or not they were overpaid this year. It may have been the first 300-yard game for the Huskers in 2017, but how much does it really mean for Ohio State. For instance, does knowing that Nebraska…
Ohio State offensive coordinators Kevin Wilson and Ryan Day met with the media on Wednesday, as did defensive coordinator Greg Schiano. They provided updates on their players as the Buckeyes head into a bye week. Here are the highlights.
Ask the average Ohio State football observer, and they may not even know who Tate Martell is.
