Looking back, the Ohio State cornerbacks probably could have looked back a bit more over the last two seasons. So often over that time the coverage would be there, but the pass would still be completed because the Buckeye defender wouldn’t turn his head and look back for the ball. There was a method that brought about your madness, however.
Ohio State returns Damon Arnette and Jeff Okudah, who were both in the rotation with Sheffield last year. The common theory is that the rotation will continue if possible. The first name that comes to mind when thinking about continuing the rotation is redshirt sophomore Shaun Wade. Wade was the team’s nickel back…
Fourth-year junior cornerback Damon Arnette announced via social media on Friday that he is returning for his fifth-and-final season at Ohio State. At this point, it looks like cornerback Kendall Sheffield is the last remaining Buckeye who has yet to make a decision. As of a day or two ago, sources had Sheffield leaning…
Ohio State sophomore safety Brendon White stepped up in Saturday’s game against Nebraska when his team needed him the most. The Buckeyes were down three starters after junior Jordan Fuller was ejected for targeting and White came in and soon eliminated any concern. He finished the game with 13 tackles…
COLUMBUS — Ohio State starting strong safety Isaiah Pryor will likely not play today when the Buckeyes take on Nebraska. Pryor did not dress for warmups, which generally indicates that a player is injured and will be held out of that day’s game. An OSU spokesman was unable to give a reason for Pryor not dressing.
Well *takes deep breath* it happened again. My statistical projections were impacted when OSU played down to its competition and was unable to separate from the Golden Gophers until late in the game. For a majority of the contest, Minnesota was within a score of Ohio State, even leading for several minutes in the second quarter.
Shaun Wade came to Ohio State last year with high expectations as a 5-star prospect and the second-ranked cornerback in the 2017 recruiting class. His freshman year, however, did not go as planned. Wade suffered an abdominal injury early last year that led to surgery, sidelining him for his entire freshman season.
The No. 3 Ohio State Buckeyes return home on Saturday to face Indiana. The 4-1 Hoosiers are off to a hot start this season, and could keep things interesting if the Bucks aren’t focused. Last year, a dramatic comeback win over Penn State was followed up with a belly flop in Iowa City. This year, OSU’s players and coaches know they can’t afford a similar slip-up…
Here we are. The game I ranked third coming into the 2018 season as Ohio State’s most concerning is upon us. The winner takes the inside lead to the B1G East Division, while the loser has to try to regain lost ground and hope for some help along the way. Like Ohio State, Penn State comes into this game undefeated.
Last week against Oregon State, the Buckeye safeties did not have their best games. Sophomore Isaiah Pryor and redshirt sophomore Jahsen Wint were both making their first starts, and doing it without incumbent starter Jordan Fuller, who was held back due to a hamstring. Both Pryor and Wint were involved in big…
