On a day when Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback J.T. Barrett completed 75% of his passes, the questions posed to Urban Meyer after Saturday’s OSU 38-7 win over Army were the throws that Barrett didn’t make. Barrett completed 10-of-14 passes for 104 yards in the first quarter, but it was the misfires early on that Meyer was asked about.
With no squinting needed, one can look at the 2017 Ohio State offense and mistake it for the 2016 offense pretty easily. We knew this was always going to be Urban Meyer’s offense, I think we just thought it would look a little bit different with Kevin Wilson in the driver’s seat. The fact that Wilson is so eagerly accepting blame is an…
Urban Meyer’s weekly show on the Ohio State IMG Radio Network takes place this Thursday around noon. We will have live updates once the show gets under way shortly. Expect Meyer to provide updates on injuries, such as quarterback Joe Burrow and running back Demario McCall. Meyer will also look forward to this week’s opponent, Army.
Episode 7 of Accost the Field is titled Offensive Content because much of the talk centered around the Ohio State offense. There was also some discussion on the Buckeye defense, as well as how much control Kevin Wilson actually has in Urban Meyer’s system. There are plenty of other things as well, but I’ll leave that for the rundown.
Ohio State head football coach Urban Meyer spent a few minutes on this week’s Big Ten coaches teleconference. He spoke a little bit about last week’s loss to Oklahoma and also answered some question about the challenges that remain, including this week’s contest against Army. Here are the highlights.
One of the most common phrases and battle cries of the Urban Meyer Era is the term, “Nine Units Strong”. This of course refers to each position on the field: defensive linemen, offensive linemen, running backs, corners, safeties, linebackers, quarterbacks, wide receivers, and tight ends. This term emphasizes the goal of being…
Urban Meyer spoke with the media on Monday to provide some updates on what went wrong against Oklahoma and how the team plans to respond moving forward. Here are the highlights.
The fifth and final act of J.T. Barrett’s Ohio State career took a dark turn on Saturday night as the Ohio State offense sputtered once again in a 31-16 loss to Oklahoma. It not only eliminated most of Ohio State’s margin of error for the season, but also erased much of the goodwill built up during a promising offseason and the…
The Buckeyes were 16 points better against Oklahoma than they were two games ago against Clemson, but do you feel 16 points better about it? You shouldn’t, because losing 31-16 to Oklahoma is worse than losing 31-0 to Clemson. When the Buckeyes lost to Clemson, Urban Meyer knew what the problem was and he took…
It may be a new season for the Ohio State Buckeyes, but it sure has a familiar feel to it. The passing game was once again an issue, which was thought to be back on better footing. The pass defense, meanwhile, had a 2013 feel to it, which should be a terrifying thought combined with the OSU passing game right now. Ohio State now…
