Ohio State Names Players of the Game and Champions vs Maryland

(Note: There were will be no usual Monday press conference for Ohio State this week because Urban Meyer is out of town with a player and his family as a family member is going through a serious health issue at the moment.)

Ohio State has released their weekly game notes for Saturday night’s matchup at Nebraska, which means they have also released the Players of the Game and the Champions from OSU’s 62-14 win over Maryland.

Quarterback J.T. Barrett was named the Offensive Player of the Game, while linebacker Jerome Baker earned Defensive Player of the Game. Redshirt freshman linebacker Tuf Borland was the Special Teams Player of the Game.

Barrett completed 20-of-31 passes for 261 yards and three touchdowns. He also carried the ball eight times for 59 yards and a touchdown.

Baker, meanwhile, finished with three tackles, but added a sack, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery, which he returned 20 yards for the Buckeyes’ first defensive touchdown of the season.

The champions on offense were J.T. Barrett, K.J. Hill, Parris Campbell, Johnnie Dixon, Billy Price, Jamarco Jones, Michael Jordan, and Marcus Baugh.

The champions on defense were Jerome Baker, Nick Bosa, Sam Hubbard, Tyquan Lewis, Jalyn Holmes, Chase Young, and Dante Booker. This is the second week in a row that Young has been named a champion.
