There are three weekends remaining until the final signing day of the 2018 recruiting cycle, and Ohio State is going to spend this coming weekend busy hosting some very talented players.
Chief among them is 4-star Maryland tackle Rasheed Walker. Walker (6-6 300) is down to Ohio State and Penn State, and the Buckeyes are getting his final official visit. He is rated the No. 3 offensive tackle in the nation per 247Sports, which is one spot higher than Ohioan Jackson Carman, who recently signed with Clemson. Walker is ranked the No. 6 offensive tackle in the 2018 class per the 247Sports Composite, however.
Walker was a First-Team All-State selection for his North Point high school.
Ohio State currently only has one offensive tackle signed, and that is 4-star prospect Max Wray out of Tennessee. Wray is already enrolled and will participate in winter workouts and spring football. Adding another offensive tackle to the 2018 class would be huge for the Buckeyes. They are also involved with 5-star offensive tackle Nicholas Petit-Frere out of Tampa, and could receive an official visit before signing day.
Another top prospect scheduled to visit this weekend is New Jersey defensive end/outside linebacker Javontae Jean-Baptiste. Jean-Baptiste is a 6-foot-5 215-pound prospect with an intriguing frame and upside. The Buckeyes are still looking for defensive ends, and Jean-Baptiste could be a missing piece to OSU’s puzzle.
Ohio State is also hoping to hear some good news on Friday from 4-star defensive lineman Tyler Friday. He is scheduled to commit to either Ohio State or Michigan in a ceremony at his high school at 2:00 pm.
The Buckeyes are also scheduled to host 3-star Florida receiver Antoine Green this weekend per 247Sports. Green, from Rockledge High School, also holds offers from Florida State, North Carolina, Tennessee, and others. He is rated the No. 67 wide receiver in the 2018 recruiting class.
