Running Back Amari McMahon Latest Buckeye to Lose Black Stripe

Amari McMahon Ohio State Football Buckeyes

Walk-on junior running back Amari McMahon had his black stripe removed following Wednesday’s practice.

The loss of his black stripe means that he is now a full-fledged Ohio State Buckeye.

McMahon, currently a junior, walked onto the team last fall prior to the 2017 season. He is from Dublin, Ohio and played at Dublin Scioto.

McMahon was a scholar athlete last season for the Buckeyes, but did not see action in any games.

He is now the eleventh Buckeye to lose his black stripe this year.

  1. Good for him. I admire men like him who are on the team for love of the game and, I have to believe, OSU. He may have been able to play at a small school, but stays with the Bucks despite not getting into a game. That’s a tribute to him and OSU.
