The 2009 Ohio State Buckeyes clinched their fifth consecutive Big Ten championship with a 21-10 win over arch-rival Michigan.

It was the sixth straight win in the series for the Bucks, the longest in the history of the rivalry at the time.

OSU forced five turnovers, including a fumble that Cameron Heyward recovered in the end zone for the first score of the game.

Michigan kept it close into the second half, cutting the Buckeye lead to 14-10 in the third quarter. However, OSU put it away with a 12-yard screen pass to Boom Herron for a touchdown that closed the scoring.

Wolverine quarterback Tate Forcier threw four interceptions in addition to that costly fumble in the end zone.

The Buckeyes finished the regular season 10-2, and headed for the Rose Bowl.

The loss meant Michigan would miss a bowl for the second straight season, with a 5-7 record.
