Wilson, out of Calabasas, California, is the No. 2 receiver in the 2020 class per the 247Sports Composite and the No. 18 player overall.
Wilson previously released a top six of Michigan, Fresno State, Northwestern, Oregon, USC, and Washington back in the summer. Texas and Ohio State offered in December and clearly made a positive impression.
As a junior, the 6-foot-5 and 215-pound Wilson caught 31 passes for 520 yards and 10 touchdowns. As a freshman, however, he caught 58 passes for 855 yards, and then had another fantastic year as a sophomore with 52 catches for 899 yards.
Wilson is obviously a large target and he uses his body and hands very well. His 35 touchdowns so far in his career are an indication of a very talented red zone option also.
Ohio State is in on a number of top 2020 receiving targets and already have verbal commitments from 4-star prospects Gee Scott (6-3 211) and Jaxon Smith-Njigba (6-1 188).
The Buckeyes have hosted Pennsylvania 5-star receiver Julian Fleming (6-3 210) a few times in the past year, including twice in November for games. Fleming is the No. 1 receiver in the nation and the No. 5 player overall. Penn State is the favorite here, but Fleming has shown plenty of interest in Ohio State.
Five-star Washington DC receiver Rakim Jarrett (6-0 182) appears to be favoring the Buckeyes. There are others as well, but Ryan Day and receivers coach Brian Hartline can afford to have a focused attack.
